Students' work with scientific investigations can be complemented by activities in which the purpose is to meet a human need, solve a human problem, or develop a product rather than to explore ideas about the natural world. We provide a task that involves the application of science concepts already familiar to students, within a problem solving context. They will learn to apply technological design and problem solving skills. They will also investigate space transportation and research contributors to science and technology.
